HKL
took part in an exhibition while discussing microfinance amid global
financial crisis

Hattha
Kaksekar Limited (HKL) took part in a meeting
and exhibition at Phnom Penh hotel for
two-day which began on Wednesday 19-20 August 2009, while there was a
conference on Cambodia’s Microfinance amid the Global Financial Crisis.
There were
around 500 people from local and international
institutions such as members of Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA),
senior microfinanciers, bankers, regulators, local authorities, and
representatives of IFC and World Bank. In particular, there had been
a presence of H.E Chea Chanto, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia.
This
conference was supported by the International
Financial Corporation (IFC) and the European Union (EU) and organized by the
National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and Cambodia Microfinance Association.
Cambodia is hosting a conference to talk on how
microfinance can boost country's economy, promote financial inclusion, and
enhance customer protection during this economic turmoil.
Within this
event, Hattha Kaksekar Limited displayed its products including loan
product, savings product, and local money transfer product to every
participant.
Two new branches of HKL open its operations on
1st of January 2009
On 1st
of January 2009, HKL celebrated it new branch opening in Takeo and Prey Veng.
Throughout these two branches, people there will have more access to HKL’s
products which are more flexible and affordable.
It is noted
that HKL is one of the leading MFI in Cambodia. HKL is nowadays operating in
9 provinces including Kompong Chhang, Pursat, Battambang, Banteuy Meanchey,
Siem Reap, Kompong Thom, Kompong Cham, Phnom Penh and Kandal.
By December
2008, HKL has almost USD $30 millions in loan portfolio and more than 44,000
borrowers. Deposit of HKL is around US$ 1.2 Millions.
These two
branches will serve the customer in all business and agricultural sectors in
the provinces by providing loan, savings and money transfer services in US
Dollar, Khmer Riel, and Thai Baht. |
